Dear random woman in the movie theater last night,
It took every ounce of my being to refrain from getting up, bitch slapping you, and dumping my blue raspberry slushie on your head. You know how they ask you to ‘please silence your cell phones?’ The same goes with your trap. For the love of God – keep it shut. If you can’t keep yourself from the incessant gossiping and talking about how shitty your love life is for three hours, a movie theater isn’t the place for you. Next time you should try going to your friend’s house or going out to dinner. Anywhere but a place that 98% of the people there have the expectation of silence and enjoyment. Thanks for making the most terrible movie I’ve ever seen worse. Do you ever stop?! Ahhhhhh…
PS – You owe my husband an apology because I crushed his hand while holding myself back from saying something to you.
From: Blair (and I’m sure everyone else in the theater. They only turned and looked at you 50 times but you never got the hint.)
(Have any of you seen The Revenant? Seriously…. don’t. And yes, I still enjoy a blue slushie. You only live once, right?)
I don’t admit this often, but I seem to never really like Oscar winning or nominated movies. I just find them, okay. Lol. Exception being Black Swan and silver linings playbook.
I kind of have the same problem lol. Some of my favorite movies got terrible reviews. Whoever comes up with these nominees has terrible taste lol. I loooved Black Swan!
Oh my god. I canNOT deal with talkers. I’m surprised you didn’t say anything! I am definitely that person who will tell someone to STFU.
Why should I not see The Revenant?!
It’s long. Barely any dialogue. Boring. Half of the movie could be edited out. But, hey… A lot of people like it so I may be giving you bad advice!
I mean, it seems like it’s going to win All The Oscars, so chances are I’m not going to like it.
Right? Hahah
amen
haha! You should come to the movies with me, I don’t hold back if someone is talking too loudly about non movie related stuff.
I don’t mind if someone is talking to someone else about what is happening in the movie and in a quiet hushed tone, but I reeeeeally dislike people talking about non movie related things in a not very quiet manner. I’ll tolerate it mostly if they do it quietly, but generally I say something.
I have no shame in standing up and shouting at them (literally done this on several occasions!) if they don’t respect other people in the cinema, I’ve even offered to give one bunch of teenagers their money back if they don’t want to watch the movie, they soon shut up! (^_^)
Okay, I’m too cheap to offer someone’s money back just because they are pissing me off, but I admire your dedication! Haha. I don’t really get bothered by people talking about the movie either. But it makes me want to stab myself having to hear about some random chicks dating life! People suck 🙂
Sounds like anything you coulda done to her woulda been a popular move … betta than the movie? (Thinks: must stop posting in dialect, it’s starting to affect my comments!)
I like the dialect! Haha. I’m sure it would have garnered an applause. I probably should have sacrificed my slushie.
Oh, my gosh. I laughed so hard when I read this, and then I applauded your restraint. Personally I would have socked her right in the mouth… or at least given her a piece of my mind. Some people are just so rude!
Agreed! It as really hard to stay quiet lol. I fidgeted the whole time.
Ahhhh that’s so annoying! Major props for being able to not say anything. I think I would have blown up at them or left and asked for a refund. I avoid going to the movies because I can’t deal with talkers, chair kickers, people who sit next to me or in front of me when the theatre isn’t remotely full, people who chew their popcorn loudly, people who shake their cups and make ice noises, etc. I may be the last person in America who still gets actual DVD’s from Netflix so I can watch new releases at home and enjoy the luxury of the pause button.
Ohhh, leaving and getting a refund would have been smart. If I knew the movie was so bad, I definitely would have done that! I prefer watching movies at home too. Too many annoying people around !
This is definitely one of the main reasons I no longer go out to movies, besides the high prices now. I don’t have the patience and I probably would’ve said something. I always feel like the only one bothered by this behavior too and I really don’t understand that.
However, I’ve been known to flash dirty looks to someone behind me who won’t shut up, or tell someone to PLEASE stop kicking the back of my chair. But seriously, why are these people who want to listen to themselves talk, go to movies? There are bars for that and their own living room. And what about the person she was talking to? That person paid to listen to her yap? Ugh. I don’t get the behavior of some people.
Thanks for the mini review of the movie too. I’ll save myself from renting it as well. 🙂
I don’t get it either! It’s maddening lol. The woman she was with ignored her, but never had the balls to tell her friend to shut up.
precisely why i don’t go to see movies in the theater anymore. common courtesy seems to have gone out the window a long time ago.
Right? Common courtesy has been MIA for awhile now sadly
There are some people out there that are completely oblivious of their actions. Whether it be narcissism, stupidity or both you can’t win. I want to bitch slap that person and I wasn’t even there.
Haha right? She needed a good slap
ahahah! Lov this post!!
Thank you 😀
Wow! I would’ve complained and got her kicked out. That is crazy. People are so rude!!
I went to movie the other day and was talking my friends head off but this was before the movie even started. The peviews hadnt even started. This old lady kept glaring at us rudly. I got mad. Like lady mind your own damn business. The movie hasnt even started or peviews. I can be as loud as fuck until the peviews start then I shut the hell up… haha.
Haha right? I talk before the movie too, but zip it once it starts. It’s fair game any time before that! Talk away 🙂
That is how I feel.It was so annoying because she was standing by her sit glaring at us. It was very hard not to cuss her out. As the peviews started she sat and glared us. Like f off man. Lol I am actually gonna watch the movie.
Saw the latest Star Wars recently – the woman behind us not only kicked my seat the whole time, but somehow managed to PULL MY HAIR at one point. What the actual fuck?
We only went because it’s Star Wars, duh. Prior to this the last movie we saw in a theatre was Avatar, which was voiced over by a couple of teen girls in high pitched giggles. I did shush them, it did no good. I’m very much done with the theatre.
I liked The Revnant, but just visually. Quite impressed how there were hardly any scene cuts – just one long-ass take that travelled all over the place (woods to water, even). Caprio should get something for his acting, too. Plot wise? Meh.
Yeah, the acting was really well done. Everything else I was bored. Sadly. I wanted to like it! I had someone pull my hair once at the theater. She had her feet on the back of my head cushion and my hair got caught. I almost punched her. People at the theater suck.
Must be what this cow was doing, then. I’m the one who went and told the management their 3D was screwy, too – think I’d be thanked, not pummelled and plucked!
Cow. Hahaha. Made me laugh. That’s a pretty shitty repayment!
You forgot to bring a light sabre to end the person behind you into a blaze of glorious cauterized silence? Or even better, your reliable trusty blaster; you can never go wrong with a blaster. Blah blah blah blah… Shut up already! Kablam!!! https://youtu.be/bosSsgzgenA?t=2m37s I’ve never been to “a more wretched hive of scum and villainy” than when last I ventured into a movie theatre. The audience sucked almost as much as the pricetags.
I would SO totally shoot first!
I didn’t mind the pricing – it’s not as bad over here, and we don’t go often (obviously).
OMG, I TOTALLY would have told her loudly to SHUT UP! And one day, I’m going to bitch slap someone!
It will be so fun when you do haha
haha I’m busting a gut just thinking about doing it!
Oh my God that is one of my biggest pet peeves! I recently saw the new Star Wars movie and these two teenaged boys (whom had seen the movie before) decided that the last 10 minutes of the movie was the best time to start talking about some new video game that came out that day. Really? That was the best time to talk about that? I totally get your anger.
People have a serious lack of awareness and common sense lol. I hope you shot them a few dirty looks. Teenagers…
Haha! Agreed! And yes a couple of them.
lol iknow how annoying it can be! arrrgghh!
I too have seen The Revenant. It’s not for the faint hearted. Or vegetarians.
Yeah, it was pretty sick when he gutted the horse and snuggled up in its corpse. Weird.
I will occasionally whisper a few comments about the movie during a movie. I work VERY hard to not disturb anyone when I do it and to limit the number of times I do it. The constant talkers drive me insane. I am a HUGE movie fan, so being in the theater is a near holy event. People like that need to be escorted out. Oh for the long lost days of movie ushers!
They need to bring those back! The seldom whispers are expected. Those aren’t too bad 🙂
